karwa Chauth

We did nothing all day today. We were preparing ourselves for the evening ...

We surfed the net, read books and ate.

Evening came and things started to get a little more interesting. Today is Karwa Chauth when ladies pray and show appreciation for their husbands. A special feast was prepared, offerings presented to the gods, henna painted and traditional clothes warn. It was very interesting to watch and it was very kind of our friends to let us witness their special time.

The henna painting was rather spectacular. In fact the whole thing was spectacular. Our friend's clothes, the food we ate and the full moon ritual on the balcony. The wife looks through a sieve (don't know real name), towards her husband and the moon - very interesting!

A spectacular opportunity. India just keeps on giving!
