Lampang
We made it to the station and managed to grab some soya milk from the Lotus's shop (it is spelt exactly like this) for breakfast.
We tried to get into one compartment but the guard told us to go in a different one. It wasn't until later when he explained that the original compartment had hard seats and he had directed is to the soft ones. What a nice man. The seats may have been soft but whilst we were on our journey 2 of them collapsed and the passengers ended up on the floor. They were both ok though it was quite entertaining.
The train left exactly on time and passed a lot of beautiful green countryside and many small stations.
As we arrived in Lampang, so did a downpour. We sheltered in a little cafe and ate some hot soup for lunch. Once the rain had stopped we went in search of accommodation as we had not pre-booked. Many of the guesthouses were closed and we eventually booked into a nice hotel with a lovely friendly and helpful chap on reception.
Once checked in we headed out to explore. We found a small market with stalls selling all sorts of snacks, of which we tried a number! Lampang has lots of street art throughout the town which looks great.
In the evening we headed to a lovely restaurant we had eaten at on a previous trip and were not disappointed by the delicious food they serve.
