Animals and Birds
We had a surprise visitor this morning. After breakfast the door bell rang and a lady appeared. She was a friend of the owner and a keen traveller. She sat and chatted with us about different trips she had been on and had recently returned from Iceland where she managed to see the northern lights. She was of Indian origin but had a very modern view of life.
After a short guitar lesson, we headed out on a mystery tour. We drove along the Raipur road which we had heard about. It is lined with shops and fancy boutiques and hotels. We were approaching the mountains of Mussoorie but a sharp turn took us into the parking area of the Dehradun zoo. It was a well presented home for snakes, birds, fish etc. etc. Also a large number of plants and cactus. It was a very green area away from the hustle of the city and the honking horns of the traffic.
After our zoo stop we ate at a shopping centre. We had different meals to yesterday. One dish had huge puffed up bhature! Very tasty though a little spicy.
The drive home was busy. Weekend traffic and many more people buzzing around. As we pulled to a stop, we noticed the house transformation. Diwali lights R Us.
TV and Chai filled our evening. - India's got Talent grand final in fact!
