Om
A day of temple exploring in Somnath after a lazy start. Chai was our first stop. The man outside our hotel does the best ginger chai in town.
We walked to various temples in the direction of where 3 rivers meet. The walk was not far but it took us a long time as we talked and had photos with sooo many people. We even had lunch at one temple with a friendly family.
In the afternoon we hid from the heat and had a small snooze...
In the evening we went to the beach to see the camels and horses. We watched the sunset and took many photos of the main temple lit up.
We went to a children's Navratri dance festival in the park. The traditional dresses were wonderful and the 4 year old divas really could dance! Christine joined in with the help of the local ladies. Pav bhaji and masala dosa was our comfort food tonight before more chai at our local!
We chatted to a friendly man who we met standing outside our hotel. We had met his mother each time we went 'in or out' and he was able to explain in English all about her plus many other things. She always smiled at us but couldn't speak to us in English. It turns out she is about 70 and cannot walk much anymore.
