Cinema (again!)
Today is another travel day. We packed up our things and had breakfast. We have a lot of time to kill today as our overnight (sleeper) train does not leave until gone midnight. We used the metro to zip around as it is so easy, quiet, has Air Con and there are no traffic jams.
We stopped at the chai shop and had a puff (bit like a cream horn) before heading for the metro. We caught the metro to the end of the line in order to see a huge gurdwara, which we had spotted the previous day. As soon as we arrived a lady approached us and said once we had visited the gurdwara we should go downstairs for lunch, which we did. There was a huge blue Shiva statue opposite. We couldn't get over the road to get a loser as it was flyovers, underpasses and crazy traffic!
Next to the gurdwara was a huge complex with a cinema so we went to see what was on...we chose a movie called Jawan. It was in Hindi but was very good. An interesting mix of action and Bollywood dancing! The Aircon worked a treat. It was freezing inside!
After the movie Darryl checked the train time, only to find we had made an error. The train we had booked left at 00.50 this morning, rather than tomorrow morning, as we thought.. mild panic set in as we had already booked our non refundable accommodation in the next town.
We caught the metro to the train station to see what our options were. We were helped/hindered by 2 friendly rickshaw drivers who wanted us to go by bus. We eventually settled on catching a train at 20.25 to another town (Jamnagar) which is enroute to our destination town of Dwarka. At Jamnagar we then had to wait for another train to Dwarka. Unfortunately, the train only had seats, so no sleepers. Darryl chatted to 2 friendly men opposite who helped us get a seat. Christine managed to lie down on an upper berth made of steel bars. Some sleep finally arrived but not a lot!
