The Lung

We caught several buses across the city to meet our driver. A 'friend of a friend' had volunteered to drive us to a floating market far, far away on the outskirts of the city.

At the market we shopped and ate and ate some more before leaving to our next destination - The Lung of Bangkok! A large natural area and a local escape from chaotic city life. We hired a bike each and set off around the park searching for interesting plants and birds.

Once we had explored the park we were taken on a little side trip. The lady who rented us the bikes guided  us along a narrow path to an organic farm. Here we got to meet the owners who were super friendly. We had welcome tea made from the leaves of the mulberry plant and some fresh mulberry ice cream. They gave us a tour of their lovely little farm and allowed us to pick mulberries as we went.

We were dropped off in the centre of Bangkok but the weather looked a little ominous. Big black clouds were beginning to appear. We stopped to grab some tom yum soup at a street stall before catching the bus back to our temporary home.
