Dalhousie

First stop of the day, breakfast.  Today we tried something slightly different.  Mooli paratha (radish)...it was very nice, washed down with tea.

Dalhousie is a system of small roads in a figure of 8.   We started at St Francis, a beautiful little church up on a hill.  Outside was a sun dial.  Whilst we were trying to work out what time it was saying the priest came over.  He told us not to go by whatever time it was saying as it had been saved and relocated to it's current position years ago. Inside the church was a beautiful wooden carved ceiling and altar.

We followed a tree lined path around the old colonial hill station with beautiful views of the mountains all the way.

At the end we entered Ghandi Chowk, a little market area with another cute church, St John's.

After making enquiries about the bus to Najjiar for tomorrow we continued around the figure of 8 walk, with even more stunning views of the snow capped mountains. Whilst taking pictures another couple joined us and it turned out they were on their honeymoon and had come from New Delhi.  The husband was taking an Insta video of his new wife, who was beautifully dressed for the occasion.

Before we knew it we were back where we started.  We headed downwards towards the bus station.  The enquiry desk looked like it had been closed for years.  Luckily next door was a tourist office and we managed to get some information for our onward journey in a couple of days. We are never certain the information given is accurate though!

We found the busiest cafe in town for lunch and ate a nice veg thali and chai.

We wandered back to our accommodation to watch the sunset as it has a fantastic view right outside and it didn't disappoint - another great winterline.

Once the sun had disappeared we walked back to Mall Road.  During the day this doesn't look like much but what a difference at night.  The whole stretch was buzzing with people.  Lots of lovely little shops were open and people were eating street food.

We walked back towards our accommodation and decided we were hungry again... unfortunately by now most of the little cafes near our accommodation were closed.  We settled on some snacks which we took back with us and ate with some hot ginger tea.
