Ancient Buildings Everywhere
We trundled to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. We ate the standard northern Indian paratha- one with onion and garlic, the other more unusual ... honey topped!
We made our way to the palace, we walked around the outside and continued to explore. Monument after monument, small village after small village, small child playing with their friends after small child playing with their friends!
Beautiful views in every direction. In addition to the temples we were blessed with a beautiful river strewn with large boulders and beautiful fields of crops. Apparently there were a few crocs around but we didn't find any.
We entertained small children, dogs and cows as we strolled from site to site. The tracks got harder to follow along the river so we headed inland. We were blocked by walls, gates, fences but they didn't deter us. We found a way through and back to the main road. We crossed over and continued to a few temples on the other side. We passed a few old abandoned Ambassador cars and some old houses before stumbling on more ruins from the past.
In all our walking temple tour equated to about 14km and we ended up at the riverside. Where we took sunset photos in the golden light and drank chai.
Our friend told us about a huge tree that was really, really old. We were taken to it. What was unusual was that as one man pulled on the left branch, not only didit move but also the right branch that was far, far away. Not really sure how this worked but it was quite unusual especially as the tree trunk was MASSIVE!
Back at home we partied once again. Our friends daughter had reached 5 years old. She had a pretty cake, sat in a princess throne and she cut the cake. We all are a piece. She was so excited. People gave her money and she hat lots of little presents. She had waited all day for this and the excitement on her face was priceless. The house was decorated with balloons and banners for her special day!
We played games, wore ourselves out. Drank more chai and slept Zzzz
