Waterfall

We awoke to beautiful sunshine and the amazing view of the snow capped Himalayas.

We wrapped up warm and wandered down to the little cafe where we had dinner last night.  We ordered aloo paratha, our 'go to' breakfast.  However, today it was supersized.  At least double the size of normal and extremely tasty.  We washed this down with chai.

We headed down through the village, across the bridge to the main road.  We walked a little way and then found the track which would lead us up the side of the mountain to a waterfall.  The views along the way were breathtaking.  It soon warmed up and off came out jackets, shortly followed by our long sleeved tops as by now it was t-shirt weather!

We walked up and up and eventually found the beautiful waterfall.  We sat near the base on a big rock and enjoyed the view.

The next part of the trek was downwards toward the river and then back up the otherside.

We walked through a little village and chatted with an Indian man and a Russian girl who ran a jewelery shop.  They invited us in for chai and we chatted about the man's grandfather who worked with the British army back before the second world war.  He recounted stories his grandfather had told him about how strict the British were on time keeping!

Next we came to the main village and were surprised to see lots of people holding gigantic white rabbits and having their photos taken ... the poor animals were passed from one person to the next, although they didn't appear to mind!

This was all taking place outside the beautiful wooden Manu Temple.  Inside the temple are hotsprings where you can bathe, although we decided not to!

On through the village, full of little shops which all appeared to be selling the same things - shawls, gloves, woolly hats and various other items to keep you warm.

At the end of the village we headed down some stairs which led us back to the main road and then it was a 3km walk back to the bridge.  Back over the bridge we headed to our new favourite cafe for veg thali and chai.  On the way virtually every man we saw was looking at his phone, watching India play Australia in the cricket world cup final that India surprisingly lost!

We filled our tummies with veg thali and sweet chai before heading back to our accommodation for the evening, as by now it was getting rather cold!
