Time to Move
We had breakfast, lazed around, watched the chef prepare lunch, ate lunch and said goodbye to our friends!
It was a huge surprise when they handed over a gift - one huge box of goodies and a smart new t-shirt for Christine. So kind!
We walked to the main road and easily caught a shared electric rickshaw. The suspension really wasn't up to the holes in the road. We transferred to auto number '5' at parade ground and this took us all of the way to the ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminal) where we originally arrived in Dehradun.
We were early and filled our time eating our new gift and drinking tea. We found the bus, had our online ticket checked and left on time.
The bus looked ok. It was an older style, not a fancy coach but it was warm, had no crazy music and was comfortable. We were glad as we were now to be on it for 10 and a half hours through the night. There were several stops at main bus stands and we picked people up here and there. When we stopped we drank tea and emptied ourselves of tea ...
The bus stopped at one station and literally 'millions' of people climbed on. They crammed the ailses but only stayed for a short time, thankfully.
Darryl made a friend on the bus. He was a man probably in his 30s. He spoke a few words of English but that was all. He sat next to Darryl, told Darryl he loved him, rested his head on his shoulder and went to sleep.
At one stop, in the early hours we drank hot tea whilst listening to Christmas music, including Mariah Carey!
