On the train

After checking out of our accommodation and chatting to the manager for a while we headed for our morning chai, vada pav and poha for breakfast.  Whilst we sat there we watched a couple having their pre-wedding photos taken in various poses along the street.

We wandered slowly towards the train station, stopping for more chai along the way.  Just before we reached the station we saw a very busy cafe so decided to stop for some lunch of aloo paneer paratha served with dal and curd.

At the station we purchased tickets to Bundi.  The train arrived and departed on time.  We managed to get some seats but at stops along the way more and more people boarded.  There were people sitting in the luggage racks, on the floor and our seat for 4 had 5 squeezed in!

We chatted to the man opposite us who was watching England play South Africa in cricket .... unfortunately England were not doing well!

Four and a half hours and we arrived in Bundi.  We shared an auto to the town with our new cricket friend.  We checked into our accommodation which is converted elephant stables at the old fort.  We drank tea with the family who run the accommodation before wanderning into town in search of food.

We found a stall selling chana masala and potatoes which was really good.  We could hear something happening further on so followed the sound to the park, where there was a show on.  The local policemen kindly gave us their seats so we could sit and watch.

Our new accommodation has a lock up time of 10.30pm but the show was still going, so we managed to get a WhatsApp message to the manager to say we would be late!
