A tour of town

After a good night's sleep we headed out.  First stop, as always, was chai.

Next we saw a lady getting water from a well.  She called us over and wanted us to have a go.  Darryl did a great job, Christine found it too hard to lift the full bucket so the lady took over!

Today we decided we would try and cross the bridge to the beach on the other side ....however the bridge was closed for maintenance.

We walked along the promenade and saw a man crossing from the beach to the town on a camel!  Not something you see every day. A few local kids followed us most of the way.

On our walk we saw a beautiful gateway to the old town and some pretty little temples and, of course, lots of cows. Dwarka appears to be the world cow capital. They are everywhere!

We followed the road and found we had walked in a complete circle.  We spotted a busy little stall so went to investigate and had the yummiest lassi, cool and fresh, just what we needed.

We then headed back into the old town to have another Gurjurati thali for lunch.  After lunch, as it is averaging around 33 degrees we decided to head back to our hotel for a bit of respite from the sun.

In the evening we wandered back into town and had vada pav and dabeli pav followed by more lassi from a small stall.

As we made our way back towards our hotel we witnessed a lady who would lie on a sack, push a coconut in front of her, get up, move the sack on a bit and repeat.  We can only assume this must be a pilgrimage ritual.

We have an early bus tomorrow so no late night partying tonight!
