Madauri
We collected our washing from the line. Even though it wasn't hot or sunny all yesterday afternoon, it was mysteriously bone dry. We think a very friendly lady might have helped with this but we can never be sure.
The trip to the bus stop was uphill but we made it to the 9.40 bus to Madauri. It was a proper old school Indian bus but as we found out could go very fast and swerve around hairpin bends with little difficulty!
We stopped on the journey to admire a view point and pick up snacks - steamed peanuts with spices.
When the bus pulled in at the final stop removing the bags from the overhead locker we had jammed them in proved tricky. However, they eventually pulled out!
We ate Paratha for lunch and soon afterwards drank tea (with biscuits). And, soon after that drank rose and badan milk. Delicious.
We walked the 3km to where we were staying and passed lots of interesting things. A river full of rubbish, a man ironing with an ancient iron full of coals, pot beating, auto fixing and millions of smiling locals!
On arrival, we chatted photography and saw some excellent albums created from local photos. In fact we spend the rest of the evening sharing stories with a short dosai interlude.
