In the Philippines portions of food are small. In Malaysia they are not!

Our first stop was a small Indian stall for breakfast. We ate a huge plate of rice and vegetables and washed it all down with tea tarek. Chinese New year is fast approaching and travel may be a little tricky. We tried to book a train but all full for about the next 4 days. We opted for booking a bus online instead. It leaves from KL Sentral so quite convenient. A lot of buses leave from an out of town station quite far away.

We explored KL. We found free electric buses that run all over the city. From KL Sentral we took the red route to the National Mosque. There are about 6 different routes. We headed across a network of highways and rivers on sky bridges. First we headed to Petaling Street in China town. We recognised a few places we had been before. However, places we had been knocked down and secret bars  we had visited were closed down too. There was one huge new building you couldn't miss - Merdeka Tower, completion this year. It makes the Petronas towers like tiny at 118 floors (almost 700m)! We explored the Petaling market, some street art and Chinese temples.

We then caught the purple line bus from nearby. We jumped out at a huge shopping mall area. We visited a few malls, the most exclusive being called Pavillion. It was beautifully decorated for Chinese New Year with rabbits. We managed to collect free samples of Lancome products and got to experience the opening hype of Paris Baguette bakery. Not French but Korean. They had dancers and free samples of croissants and pastries. Delicious!

We shopped and then caught the purple and then red buses back to the hotel. We rested and waited for our friend to arrive after work. She was late because there is a lot to do at this time of year.

When she arrived, she drove us to a trendy area of town for coffee. It was very nice. When we arrived back at the hotel we were a little hungry so crossed the street to the Indian restaurants. We asked for the same as the man sitting on a table. It was chicken and rice for 7 MYR. The instructions were passed on to the man serving and we had a huge plate of chicken and rice. However he also added some mini stuffed squid. We didn't really think much of it until payment time. The bill had gone from 14 MYR to 45! They had charged us for the little squid that we hadn't asked for and we have no idea why we were given them. We were all a little confused and paid a little extra. We left and will never return. We couldn't figure out if we were being cheated or there was a very odd mistake.

It was now past 1am and we went to sleep.
