Sea Breeze

A leisurely morning spent stocking up on water and swimming in the lovely warm water. We waited patiently for the sea breeze to arrive and it did! At 1 o'clock we were off. We had to sail upwind against a strengthening breeze to Porquerolles. It was a great sail but as we passed the anchorage decided to divert. It seemed that everyone else had the same idea and it was packed. We continued a little longer to La Badine. There were still a lot of boats there but we dropped anchor and relaxed.

The morning swim to the beach was rewarded by a dance show. Most people were still fast asleep but not the local dance school. Their teacher had them up, and straight down the beach to practise. They all wore the same colours and appeared to be taking it in turns to perform for the camera - no-hand cartwheels being amongst their repertoire.

We walked to Hyeres Plage along the beach. It is a long way... but enjoyable, people watching as we walked. Mostly Hyeres Plage consists of restaurants and boat shops. We looked at the price of some large catermerans and decided 1,000,000 Euros was a little expensive, even though it had 3 toilets.

For the walk home we decided to walk in the sea. The sea was very shallow with small sandbanks to walk on. It was also really warm just like a bath!

Back on the boat we watched the sunset from the cockpit. Soon after one very pink thunder cloud put on an amazing light show. It was great to see from a distance but not too close!

From the anchorage in in La Badine we get to hear live music from a little cafe on the shore. When the music finishes the fancy campsite starts up with it's beach disco!
